December kicked off with the biggest cyclo-cross event VCL has ever run, the South East and Eastern Regional Championships, and also a rare event away from Herne Hill.

Christmas comes around and its back to the club hill climb and Christmas dinner, for 2012 20 riders tackled Old Polhill, a relatively unknown climb.

December 9th saw VCL run the East and South East Cyclo-Cross Championships at Bethlam Hospital in Beckenham.

We didn’t get round to going on the annual club mountainbike trip to Wales in 2011. 2012 was worth the wait though with sunny, warm weather, while the those back in London had a wet weekend.

A regular kick start to our winter rides, VCL had a slightly smaller showing at the Ride of the Falling Leaves this yeah, party due to a cyclo-cross happening at the same time at Herne Hill. Oliver Cliff writes:

Busy day tomorrow. Ride of the Falling leaves for some and London League Cyclo-cross for others. Both should have a large VCL contingent.

Day 1 7 VCL members are in action at the National Track Championships in Manchester this week.  Yesterday’s racing saw James Solly and Henry Martin take to the track for the Men’s 4k individual pursuit.
