VC Londres was set up with the express aim of encouraging young riders into the sport, and although over the years the club has moved on from being a feeder club, the emphasis still remains on encouraging & supporting youth cyclists. The club has produced numerous national Champions, & although track racing is very much the focus, it aims to support riders of all abilities & interests.
The club has been awarded Go-Ride status by British Cycling in recognition of its efforts to get young people into the sport and there are a number of qualified coaches among VCL members. In 2008 the club was awarded Clubmark status, a Sport England recognition of sports clubs that are committed to providing a safe, effective, child-friendly environment. Part of the Go-Ride process involves a club appointing a Child Welfare Officer whose role is to promote and support the implementation of British Cycling's policy on good practice and child protection. For any concerns or queries, members, volunteers or parents should contact the club's child welfare officer, Carlos Conceicaos at
The club's activities for youth riders start with the popular Friday even training sessions, which cater for all ages & abilities . Once a rider is competent in the Friday sessions, they can progress to entering track league & other races, details of all of these are in the menu on the left. We have a limited number of track bikes & other equipment which are available to loan to riders without suitable equipment until such time that they are able to purchase their own. Riders are expected to look after any equipment loaned to them & return it in good condition when no longer required.
