Under 12’s
INDIA GLOAG
India did remarkably well considering it was her first Omnium. She tried hard and was determined to stay in every race. Although she found it difficult to keep up with the group she still courageously carried on till the very end. Her one lap time trial time was 50.8 seconds, a great time. India did not make the podium but still she did well. I hope she will do another Omnium.
THOMAS GLOAG
Thomas’s first omnium was also at Welwyn. He tried his best and did well considering the fact that he fell off in the points race. After being grazed on both elbows, Thomas amazingly got back on his bike and won his sprint. He then went on to do 48.7 seconds in the one lap time trial. Although he didn’t get on the podium, Thomas’s courage and determination helped him get back on the bike after being injured. Well done Thomas.
ALEX GRIFFITHS
Alex was yet another person whose first omnium was Welwyn. He rode with determination and strength. He was always in the bunch, hanging on. Alex tried his best and did well. He also did an amazing time in the one lap time trial. It was 46.5 seconds. Despite not getting on the podium, Alex tried hard. I hope he goes to more omniums.
FINLAY WELLINGS
Finlay tried hard in Welwyn. Although he is not yet the fastest rider in the world he is probably one of the most courageous. He did his best and was always doing all he could to stay in the group. In the time trial Finlay did a great time of 47.4 seconds. Finlay is an excellent rider and I hope he carries on cycling.
Under 14 boys
FRED WRIGHT
Fred did amazingly well in all of his races. He was always in the front of the pack along with another VCL rider, Max Bergin. In the two-lap time trial Fred had a superb time of 1 minute and 17.5 seconds. He tried really hard and all that effort showed when he made second place on the podium.
MAX BERGIN
Under 14 and 16 girls
RACHEL JARY
Rachel also did fantastically well. She tried really hard and showed a lot of determination while riding. Rachel always carried on till the very end. In the time trial Rachel got an amazing time of 1 minute and 26.6 seconds. Her good spirit and courage gave Rachel first place in the under 14 girls. Well done.
GEORGIE HOPKINS
Georgie did exceedingly well and tried hard. She was always in the group, determinedly keeping up. Georgie, in the time trial, did a great time of 1 minute and 29 seconds. Although Georgie did not make the podium she still did really well.
AMY GOOD
For Amy, it was her first omnium. She did unquestionably well considering that fact. Amy was often struggling to keep up, but always bravely battling on. Amy did a good time trial in a time of 1 minute 30 seconds. I hope Amy carries on doing omniums.
ELEANOR HOLDEN
Eleanor did outstandingly well. She tried hard and was always very determined. She did an amazing time of 1 minute and 30 seconds in the time trial. Eleanor is a great rider and although not making the podium, she still did extremely well.
ABIGAIL VAN-TWISK
Abi did exceptionally well and tried as hard as she could. Abi came second in the devil, a brilliant achievement. Then in the time trial she did a fantastic time of 1 minute and 23.5 seconds. Although not making the podium, Abi did the best she could and she should appreciate that.
Under 16 boys
OLIVER CLIFF
Oliver did brilliantly. He tried hard and although it wasn’t one of his best omniums Oliver still bravely carried on. In the time trial he did a great time of 1 minute and 19 seconds. Oliver didn’t make the podium but still did really well.
HISHAM AL-RAMAH
Hisham did extremely well in Welwyn. He tried his best and was always in the group. In the time trial Hisham did an amazing time of 1 minute and 16 seconds. He didn’t make the podium but still did very well.
ANDREW BRADSHAW
Andrew did fantastically well in Welwyn. He was determined and tried his hardest. Andrew did a incredible 1 minute and 11 seconds in the time trial. He also did some great sprinting in his races and won some points in the points race. Although he didn’t make the podium Andrew still did well.
GEORGE JARY
George did exceedingly well. He tried his best and was very courageous. In the points race he won some points. In the two-lap time trial George did a great time of 1 minute and 19 seconds. Although he didn’t make the podium George still did well.
