Who Are We?

VC Londres (VCL) is one of the biggest and most successful cycling clubs in the country.  It was set up in 1964 with the aim of encouraging young riders into the sport and has been endorsed by the main governing body, British Cycling, in recognition of its efforts to get young people into the sport. Our members have experienced frequent success at national level. This has been built around good club spirit rather than free equipment or clothing. The club has no sponsors, but a wealth of experience that is freely passed on to all newcomers, young and old.  The club is responsible for the day-to-day running of the club’s base at Herne Hill Velodrome.

Although based at Herne Hill, VCL members come from across London & the South.  Members range from novice riders through to National Champions of all ages.  Youth members are encouraged to participate in local and national events.

What Do We Do?

The club have a number of BC qualified coaches on hand to look after the riders at National & International competitions.  VCL training sessions run all year round, on the track, and on and off road.  Other aspects catered for include social events, many at Herne Hill, but also winter trips to Ghent for the ‘6 day’ racing, mountain bike trips & pre season trips to indoor tracks such as Calshot & Newport.  Many of these trips are subsidized for Youth riders.
