Website Guide for Club Members

Forum:

The forum is the place to post small pieces of news, race reports, ask questions, announce events etc. It is possible, though unlikely, for anyone in world to view the forum, though we will restrict the ability to register and contribute only to members of the club and “friends” of the club. Check the forum regularly as many club members will add their comments frequently. This can be a very useful means of sharing information, but will only be as strong as the information that club members put on it – so use it!

To register:

  • Go to www.vcl.org.uk/forum
  • Click “Sign In” on the top blue menu
  • Click “Create One” on the box that appears
  • Complete the boxes. Since this is the online presence of the club where most people know each other already, there’s no need to hide behind an online pseudonym – use your own name for your username!

Now you’re ready to contribute to the conversation!

  • Make sure you are logged in, by clicking “sign in” on the top blue menu and entering your email address and forum password.
  • To read or reply to an existing topic, click on its title in the list. You can then read through what other people have said, then at the bottom of the page you can type a comment and click “post comment” to add it to the topic.
  • To start a new topic click “Start a New Discussion” in the top right corner. Then choose a title for your new topic (something descriptive so that people can find it easily), and type the first post, before clicking “post comment”.

News Page:

If you have larger pieces of news that you think would be appropriate to post on the front page of the VCL site, please ask and we can arrange for you to have a login to add news. This is where the club’s achievements get showcased to the rest of the world, so don’t be shy if you’ve done something interesting or know someone who has!
